Central Government notifies appointment of 5 New Chief Justices of High Courts

The elevation of five new chief Justices to various High courts has been notified by the Central Government on June 19 .

The five judges who have been elevated to the position of Chief Justices in various High Courts as are:

Justice Vipin Sanghi (presently Delhi High Court to be transferred to Uttarakhand High Court as Chief Justice)

Justice AA Sayed (presently Bombay High Court to be transferred to Himachal Pradesh High Court as Chief Justice)

Justice SS Shinde (presently working in Bombay High court to Rajasthan High court as Chief Justice).

Justice Rashmin M Chhaya (presently working in Gujarat High Court to Gauhati High Court as Chief Justice.

Justice Ujjal Bhuyan (presently Telangana High court to Chief Justice Telangana High Court

The Collegium of Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of India, NV Ramana recommended their appointment on May 17, 2022.

After the due consultation and     discussion the Central government issued a clearance notification dated June 19 for the appointment.
